2. Hosting and server logs

ColdCompare is hosted by Hostinger. When you access the site, the hosting infrastructure necessarily processes technical request data such as your IP address, date and time, requested resource, browser/device information, referrer and server-response information. We process this data to deliver the website, maintain security, detect misuse and troubleshoot technical problems. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is retained only as long as necessary for these purposes or as required for security and legal obligations.

3. Necessary local storage

The site stores your language preference and your privacy choice in your browser's local storage. These entries are necessary to remember the settings you request. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. Google Analytics 4

ColdCompare uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), measurement ID G-FQD1PEW45N, to understand aggregate website usage and improve the site. GA4 is not loaded until you choose “Allow all”. If you choose “Necessary only”, the GA4 library is not loaded and ColdCompare does not send analytics events to Google.

After consent, GA4 may process page views and interactions, technical device/browser information, approximate location derived from the IP address and identifiers stored in first-party analytics cookies (for example _ga). Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. The legal basis for this analytics processing is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can withdraw consent at any time using Cookie preferences in the footer. On withdrawal, ColdCompare disables further GA4 collection in the current page and removes GA cookies accessible to the site. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Google Analytics user- and event-level retention is controlled by the GA4 property setting. ColdCompare’s GA4 property is configured to retain event data for 2 months. Google may retain certain other data for different periods where required for service operation, security, or legal obligations.

5. Google Search Console

ColdCompare uses Google Search Console to monitor indexing and search performance. The verification meta tag on this website proves site ownership. Search Console is not an analytics script embedded on ColdCompare and does not cause ColdCompare to place a Search Console tracking cookie in visitors' browsers.

6. Google Fonts

ColdCompare does not load fonts from Google Fonts or another external font CDN. The site uses local/system font fallbacks, so no connection to Google Fonts is required merely to render text.

7. Affiliate and external links

Some outbound links are affiliate/referral links. If you follow one, you leave ColdCompare and the destination website may process your data under its own privacy policy. ColdCompare may receive a commission if you complete a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost to you. ColdCompare does not load third-party affiliate tracking scripts on its pages solely because an affiliate link is displayed.

8. Recipients and international transfers

Depending on your use of the site, recipients may include Hostinger as hosting/infrastructure provider and, only after analytics consent, Google in connection with GA4. The controller is established in the United Arab Emirates. Service providers may also process data outside the EEA. Where the GDPR requires safeguards for an international transfer, the applicable contractual or other lawful transfer mechanism must be used.

9. Retention

Personal data is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, subject to applicable legal, security and dispute-resolution requirements. Analytics retention is described in section 4. Your language and consent choices remain in your browser until you change them or clear browser storage.

10. Your GDPR rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, email info@coldcompare.com.

11. EU representative

ColdCompare keeps this notice under review to confirm whether Article 27 GDPR requires the appointment of a representative in the European Union for its processing activities. Where such an appointment applies, the representative's contact details will be published in this section.

12. Changes

This notice will be updated when the website's data processing changes.
